The Sea Monkey Project Plastic Sheet Press

The Sea Monkey Project design and build plastic Sheet Press systems, in addition to our mobile 3-in-1 plastic recycling machine sets for groups around the world. Our Sheet Heating Press has a bed size of 1200x1200mm, and produces recycled plastic sheets up to 1 meter square, and between 6 to 32 mm thickness, using between ~6.5 to 34 kg of plastic per sheet.

Since 2018, we’ve placed 285+ machines in 33 countries, including 115+ machines located in community project sites here in Malaysia. All of our machine sets are customizable to suit the specific needs of our clients and partners, and supported by optional education, start-up, and training packages, available both on-site and on-line. We have the knowledge and experience to help you scale both the quality and quantity of your plastic production, having developed our own network of community project sites, and manufactured 185,000+ products from 100% upcycled plastic using our plastic recycling machine sets.

The Sheet Heating Press includes a manually operated 8-ton long ram jack fitted with a custom steel spring, and runs on 3-phase, 32A, 380-415 V power supply. The electrical box has been professionally wired to Singapore standards, including individual circuit breakers, and smart temperature controllers connected to 49 heater cartridges divided between dual top and bottom heating zones. The heating surfaces consist of two 1200x1200x9mm plates, CNC machined from solid aluminum, with individual aluminum heating blocks housing each of the 49 heater cartridges for consistent heat conduction. All frame parts are powder coated, fabricated steel to ensure longevity.

The Sheet Heating Press is covered with a 1600mm square hood, designed for connection with our optional Local Exhaust Ventilation system for fume filtration, or integration with an exhaust system. Additionally, there are optional system components available for safety, mobility, and operational improvements, including a Sheet Cooling Press, Sheet Preparation Table, and molds, as seen in the above photos. General specifications of the machines are based off Precious Plastic open-source blueprints, but have benefited from continuous design and manufacturing improvements by The Sea Monkey Project.
