We are the first social and sustainable business in Tierra Bomba that transforms recycled plastic into sports and leisure products. Our plastic comes from community collection and cleaning held on the beaches of the Colombian Caribbean. As a result, we are generating economic growth  in the community and a better environment.

The project works mostly with minors, for this reason we have decided to create
a Plastic Bank that will give the opportunity to the boys and girls of the Foundations
as well as the young people and adults so, in this way everyone can participate. With
the creation of the Plastic Bank we seek that everyone in the community can bring
the raw material needed and we in exchange register them as contributors to the
project, granting them access to a set of points they can redeem in Wi-Fi, market
goods or home appliances, meaning that for “X quantity of plastic caps” that a minor
or adult from the community gives, this shall turn into points that can be used for
them to be redeemed in the Bank.

With the usage of recycled plastic to produce surf fins and accessories, we give a
response to the problem of residue management that exists currently in the island.
Even though the situation has improved in the past years, Tierra Bomba still endures
the problem of trash and plastic, this being due to the lack of awareness and
possibilities. To this day, we can find the streets of the town filled with plastic and
other waste materials. With this social entrepreneurship not only do we give value to
plastic, but we turn it into an additional tool to spread awareness to the community
regarding sustainable thinking and the importance of an environment without
pollution. It also favours the autonomous development of the community and
reduces the dependence from the mainland.

It can also provide an answer to the problem of the boys, girls, and young people of
the Foundation for the correct access to virtual education with adequate tools and
access to sport with their required instruments.
