Shafts are not included but we have included above the design to turn the shafts by you. User can connect a Small 0.5 to 1KW Motor and Gearbox, even a Torque drill at set speeds. long reach socket or bore hole attachment is the perfect coupling connector driving force. Hand ratchet operation with a flexible hand Wrench to suit telescopic adjustments of operator. As an option, a mountable universal drill clamp suitably designed/adjusted for the stationary use of torque power drills to secure shaft to shaft operations. Nema 23 or higher motor and gear reducer are excellent choice for this shredder.

Spur gear collars are to be welded onto involute gears-  Involute gears x 2 - shaft slide fit -  17.20mm.

Shaft spacer hex are slide fit. There are 2 different teeth for the shredder shafts.

ASSEMBLY The side and end plates are drilled and screwed together, this is to allow - dismantling the shredder to adjust or sharpen the blades. The holes in these parts are accurately placed to keep everything lined up and it is also important that everything is square and true. The end plates are sized 1mm longer than the total stack up of all the blades and spacers to allow for a small amount of clearance and prevent binding (79mm vs 78mm). The lasercut pockets for the bearings in the side plates are sized so that they are a press fit for the bearings. The shaft not included have a sliding fit inside the inner bearing race tolerance fit. shims are included for your tolerance need at the ends of the shafts. hex spacers and teeth are slide fit as shown in the sketches above. surfaces may need cleaning for good fitment of teeth and fixed teeth. bore hole and spur gear hex collar will need welding to allow rotation tool socket or attachment for gearbox - ratchet use.

All of the internal components slide over the drive shafts and the pins and are free to move, not fixed in place.

This simple 6 is fully functional and operational parts kit. tested. it is a simple build and we have included assembly wording above. we are also here to assist during the build with you.

When building a plastic shredder one of the most common questions is, "what motor and gear reduction do I need?" There is no single simple answer to this as it depends on the combination of both. Almost any motor can be made to work with the right gearbox (though possibly only very slowly) and the ideal sized motor will not work at all with the wrong gear reduction, or could even tear the machine apart. Please ask if calculator is required. we will forwards to your email. Excel calculator which with only a few known variables will tell you how well any motor/gearbox combination will work.
