One day workshop (Basic) for recycling of plastic bags, packaging material, disposable plastic, among others, to generate new and unusual resistant materials, usable in the creation and production of utilitarian objects and artistic day-to-day ...
Designers, artisans, artists, costume designers, architects, decorators, and saviors of Earth , in General! ...
I'm Claudio Martins, Designer and Maker of objects and products ...

I studied Industrial Design in the early years of the Department of Arts of the PUC-Rio de Janeiro, Brasil , and I've been looking to present ideas and projects that I have developed simultaneously to my work that has lasted 37 years until now : workshops proposed for experimentation and generation of new materials and Recycling of plastic laminates , which complement my researches with alternative and practical techniques for this purpose ...

As a Creator and Maker, this search for alternative techniques have allowed my ideas to come true , becoming real products ... Thanks to my mechanical and manual natural hand skills , improved , since childhood , by talents and practice of basic equipment and machinery , I am the executor / Maker of 100% of what I create ...

In order to make that happen , and I try , and have succeed , to think ideas for my own amusement and customers' demands based on these skills ... all stages of creation and production of all objects that you can see following the links below , if you are interested , were executed by me ...

I love to share my technical skills as much as the creative ones , which is also part of the process during the workshops ... one of these techniques leads to the production of new prime-materials manufactured through agglomeration of plastic bags, packaging and related items by thermal fusion ...

Although some results mirror what today is considered Recycling , by the time I was developing those techniques , 25 years ago , I was in search of new synthetic materials to produce my own objects with original materials , and differentiate them from the plagiarized ones that would follow my pioneering design in this area , but made with regularly industrialized materials ...

Recycling was not a ' must ' , as it is nowadays ...

With the unusual materials that result from the practice of these processes, simple and inexpensive, it is possible to make various products of everyday use, either artistic or utilities , with virtually zero material cost , and ' endless ' applications still to be searched ... Seeking these innovations with students of different ages and abilities is one of the main goals of my projects ...
